Law Enforcement leaders read JustUs: Stories from the Frontlines of the Criminal Justice System

  • via Zoom Boulder, CO (map)

“How fair skinned is the U.S. version of fair?”

Brian Lynch, JustUs monologist

“It was very emotional and incredibly powerful... I actually underestimated the impact it would have on me.”

-Michael Dougherty, Boulder County DA on reading a JustUs monologue

Law enforcement leaders including Boulder County DA, Michael Dougherty; Lafayette Police Operations Commander, David Self; and Captain Corey Pass of Estes Park Police Department read aloud the stories of Motus Theater’s JustUs Monologists. After the presentation the JustUs monologists and allied readers will reflect on the impact of reading another person’s story or having their story read by a law enforcement leader. Monologists include Juaquin Mobley and Dereck Bell. Musical guest Spirit of Grace will provide powerful musical response between each monologue.

This performance is part of Motus Theater’s Shoebox Stories project where Motus asks community leaders and prominent Americans to step into the shoes of Motus’ JustUs monologists by reading aloud their stories and then reflecting on the experience of seeing the world through their eyes.
