Is that Justice?: Ana Karina Casas Ibarra’s story of her little brother’s deportation from the only home he has ever known, the city where he grew up - Boulder, Colorado. She asks if it is ‘justice’ to exile a teenager to a city in Mexico where he has never lived because of a marijuana possession charge.
MONOLOGUIST’S BIO
Ana Karina Casas Ibarra immigrated to the United States with her mother and two brothers as a child. She began advocating for immigrant rights in 2009, after her brother was arrested for a marijuana possession charge and sent to immigration detention. Currently, she is the Promotoras de Salud Program Coordinator for El Centro AMISTAD, and Community Connector in Residence for the City of Boulder. Ana lives in Boulder with her two sons, husband, and mom.
